PANTS OFF PARTY
On Thursday April 5, Nevermind will play host to Sydney’s newest and sexiest men-only party, the Friction Underwear Party. Fellas, wear your best jocks as you groove to tunes from DJs Gavyn Vince, Mark Alsop and Adam Cox, and enjoy shows from cage fight dancers and coyote gogo boys. TWIST AGAIN
Ladies, head to Lemons With A Twist at Slide Bar on Thursday, April 5 to start the Easter long weekend in style, thanks to the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association. Lemons is a fun, social evening of networking for same-sex attracted women in the Sydney business community. It’s on from 6-9pm, with free entry for members and $10 for others. LEATHER LOVERS
The Sydney Leather Pride Association will hold a special Good Friday edition of their regular Dog Tag party at the Oxford Hotel’s Underground Bar from 9pm on April 6. A gear and social night for the fetish community, it’s an ideal party for anyone into leather, uniforms, heels, rubber, boots, ropes, piercings — you name the kink. Sandi Hotrod will DJ.

DOWN DOGGIE
At Easter it’ll be seven years since the first WoofClub was held at Club 80 in Melbourne. For this year’s party, the venue is the Imperial Hotel’s impressive Cellar Club, 10pm-late on Saturday, April 7. There’s a feast of good fun happening at Stonewall over Easter, starting on Good Friday eve with the International Search for an Underwear Model. There’ll also be three floors open with shows, entertainment, and special appearances from hot bunny boys. On Good Friday, enjoy karaoke from 6-9pm with Verushka Darling, and the following night, check out ‘One Night in Heaven’ — three floors of shows and entertainment. To top it all off, Sunday, April 8 will see Polly’s Easter ‘Eggs’travaganza!

The Peel is running a series of Easter-themed nights from Thursday, April 5 through to dawn on Monday, April 9. There will be complimentary champagne on arrival all Easter weekend for those in drag and they’ll go into a draw to win a $1000 drink card. Drag queens can also put their name down for a chance to perform on Easter Sunday. It’s free entry the full long weekend.

Rogue Dance is planning on rocking the roof off Toorak’s Trax on Good Friday for BIG Checkpoint Charlie. There will be 16 DJs (including the UK’s D’Johnny) and entertainment spread over four levels and five dance spaces — plus a very special performance from Anthony Callea! HOUNDS OF LOVE

The GH Hotel is putting the GRRRR in Good Friday with its 15-hour Hounded event. The day event will run from noon-8pm with DJs Paul Goodyear, Sveta, Murray Hood, David Virgona and shows from TNT. The night event runs 8pm-3am with DJs Mark Robbo, Jason Conti and shows from Boylesque and the Friday Night Project. It’s $30 for the full day or $15 for the night event only.

EXTRA GRUNT
On Saturday, April 7, Grunt Club will take over the Laird Hotel. Featuring DJ Spanky, Jayson Leahy and interstate guest Mark Alsop, Grunt will use the back bar and beer garden. This touring production brings with it large-format projections with custom Grunt imagery that will be both inside and out, and a fully automated lighting rig with a few twists. It runs 8pm-3am. Tickets are $25 at the bar or Mannhaus.

FUNNY BUNNY
For those of you who miss out or can’t make BIG Checkpoint Charlie, Rogue entertainment is also running Rogue Bunny at Boutique on Easter Sunday from 8pm. DJs include Dan Murphy, Ritchie Carter, Johny Blu Boy and Haylenise. Tickets $25 on the door.

EURO TRASHED
Out! Cairns presents The Fluoro Euro Party on Saturday, April 7, 8pm-late, at The Buddha Bar (upstairs at the corner of Shields St and The Esplanade). DJ Been will play high energy Eurotrash and house classics — remixed, remade and mashed up. Punters are encouraged to dress in their fluoro-tastic, Euro-trashiest best. EASTER KINK
Brisbane’s Boot Co will present Kink, its popular annual Easter leather and kink party for men on Saturday, April 7 downstairs in the Mineshaft at the Sportsmans Hotel. The White Wolf after-party will follow on April 8 at the same venue with dirty tunes from DJ Master Sergeant and DJ Fradge. All money raised by Boot Co goes back into the LGBT community. Entry to both events is $10 guests/ $5 Boot Co members.

GET GLAM

GAY SKATE
Gay roller-skating nights will be held during Easter for the LGBT communities in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. The Skateaway Family Skate Centre will host Gay Skate on Easter Sunday, April 8, from 6.30pm and Rollerdrome Caloundra on Easter Monday from 6.30pm. The family-friendly events will help raise funds for Brisbane Pride Festival.
