Stay warm with indoor events

With winter on the way, it’s good to know there are plenty of indoor options for events and entertainment in southern NSW.

In the wake of its successful beginners burlesque class, the Phoenix Theatre is calling for expressions of interest from people looking to learn new skills or hone what they already know in the worlds of drag, boylesque and traditional burlesque. Designed as an introduction to these performance modes, the course will run for eight weeks and conclude with a graduation performance. For guys a little further south looking for socialising, check out the Shoalhaven Men’s Gay Group (SMGG). They have two events coming up in July.

For the first of these events, the SMGG will be attending the play The Sum of Us, starring Steve Bisley and Patrick Harvey, at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, July 19 at 8pm. Tickets are $38.50 or $30 for groups of 10 or more. More information at www.shoalhavenentertainment.com.au

The second event is the SMGG forum and dinner at Gabby’s in Berry on Friday, July 29. This is an invitation-only event, so if you’d like to attend, please contact the group. For more information and to contact SMGG, visit http://smgg.wall.fm

If you’re in the Riverina area, soon you should be able to tune into Free FM, a new radio station striving to give the regional GLBTIQ communities a creative yet supportive outlet to voice their opinions, concerns and beliefs without fear of discrimination.

Free FM will launch very shortly in the Wagga Wagga and Albury areas and can be contacted at [email protected]
