Think pink

Think pink

Winter is well and truly here, with dark grey skies and wet weather, but that doesn’t mean everything needs to be gloomy. In fact, it’s time to go out on the town and paint it…pink! Pink is the theme for Stonewall’s 13th birthday party, happening this Friday night, July 30. It’s time to ‘think pink’, time to get out all your pink bits and bobs…There are going to be pink feathers, pink high heels, pink flamingos, pink cocktails and of course music by Pink.

Dolly Parton’s favourite colour is pink. Barbara Cartland adored the colour. Natalie Cole drove a pink Cadillac. You can drink pink lemonade or, if you like something a little stronger, perhaps a pink gin or two. I know that I’ve seen pink elephants after consuming too many pink gins, but that’s another story altogether.

While we’re on the topic of pink, here’s something else to pencil into your diary. Café 212 is proudly presenting a comedy cabaret show, Come Fly With Me, in conjunction with Leave it to Diva Productions. This is a charity event where all money raised with be donated to the Dragons Abreast Australia, a not-for-profit organisation that assists individuals’ post-breast cancer treatment to make the transition back into a full and active life after recovering from this insidious disease.

Come Fly with Me is a musical comedy show by satirist Lesley Hancock from Leave it to Diva. I’ll see you there on August 27 at Café 212 for a wonderful two-course meal with a Pink Dragon Cocktail on arrival and spectacular show, all for just $55. Remember to book early as this is not to be missed. I’ve seen the brilliant Lesley Hancock in action and I can tell you that you will thoroughly enjoy yourself, so get a few friends together and book a table…all for a good cause!
So, while winter is well and truly here, with dark skies and wet weather, it’s also time to paint the town pink.
