Go – Jonsi
As singer for Icelandic experimental rock band Sigur Ros, Jonsi Birgisson has fronted one of the most delightfully odd arena-filling acts of the past decade. Now solo, he’s free to make music with his boyfriend, American musician Alex Somers. The result, Go, is a lush collection, and far more optimistic than Sigur Ros’ sometimes dense art-rock: Birgisson’s genderless falsetto soaring atop complex, uplifting arrangements in songs like Animal Arithmetic and the gorgeous Boy Lilikoi. Being in love clearly agrees with him.
