Aloud: Aloud
ALOUD [Aloud]
With a cool Parisian nod to soft-rock classics, the two blokes from Aloud come together like a deeper-voiced Bee Gees filtered though a Moog synthesiser. It’s all about mixtures, according to the band -“ the blending of rock vocals on top of electronic, occasionally slow and moody tunes. It’s fun and silly, a listener could find themselves pulling heavy-metal fan poses without realising, but it’s no joke record. What could be more serious than songs called Sex And Sun (parts I and II)? French duo Cyril Bodin and Gregory Louis formed Aloud in 2000, basing themselves in a part of Paris famous for its rock and roll streets. Bodin is a classic hot frontman and Louis the musical brain in the background. Ministry of Sound is promoting them as the next big French band, and they might just be right.
