Tis the Season to be jolly

Tis the Season to be jolly

My what a glorious gay Christmas it has been out West! And now the 30th Mardi Gras season is almost over, culminating with the fabulous parade and party, where two of Western Sydney’s Divas (one of which is me of course!) will perform in one of the glitzy shows.

After six long years, Queer Screen finally returned to Parramatta in 2008, to a bigger and better venue -“ the Riverside Theatre. Opening night was a corker, with many hundreds of patrons including queers, has beens, wannabes and even the Major of Parramatta.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, Penrith’s -˜Bubblegum’ at Bloc Nightclub will be searching for a new cast member after it’s Miss Fair Day 2008 star found regular work at Stonewall on a Thursday night. So, watch out for some new, some tragic and some terrific talent about to hit the stage.

Speaking of Western Sydney venues let’s not forget that there are now only THREE GLBT venues left in the West. There is no more PASH and no more Diamonds and Pearls. So please come out and support the other three nights or they will disappear.

Heaven Social group is now on the second Saturday of every month at the Rosehill Bowling Club. Their three-month trial finishes in March, with hopes of a continuing contract should numbers remain high.

The night is expecting good numbers again this coming month with Dan Knight returning to Heaven on March 8th to perform new numbers from his forthcoming debut album -˜Energy’.

Heaven’s launch of the -˜Legends of Music’ show on April 12th looks to be a cracker with your Westy Divas sparing no expense for their new costumes, and spending hours on rehearsals learning left from right.
