Tour rumour ripens

It not official yet but Kylie Minogue is definitely in talks about her tour Down Under, scheduled for the end of this year.

Music promoter and Frontier Touring chairman Michael Gudinski told reporters today he hopes Minogue will play for Australian audiences in December, following the completion of her 53-date European tour in August.

If everything can work out there’s every possibility we will do some dates later this year,” Gudinski told news.com.au.

How many dates we can do, and how many cities we do, and that stuff, will have to be worked out -“ it’s an absolutely gigantic production, it really is like taking theatre on the road.

But from Frontier’s point of view, I’m going to make every effort possible to make sure it happens.”

Gudinski told how her management was not willing to consider bringing the KylieX2008 tour to Australia for her 40th birthday.

Today was the first time that we’ve ever had any real discussion about whether it could happen, and we had a good talk today,” he said.

She would really like it to come to Australia -¦ and I just think it would be absolutely unfair to her Australian fans not to see what is the most amazing production I’ve seen.

Australia is her home country and she should be so proud of what she’s doing.

If you want Kylie to tour Australia this year, add a comment to the bottom of this story and we will pass it on to her management.

  1. Again? Another tour? When will she just give it a break and have a rest. Or maybe do something interesting with her career? Away from the mindless hype about her, I suggest you read this great article in the current issue of Attitude which says Kylie needs a new direction – and fast. Or she risks becoming the tired club act that her career is slipping into.
So, in 2008, another concert of reworked versions of Shocked and Confide in Me? Thanks, but no thanks.

  2. You are so right John -¦ Madonna clearly can’t be bothered giving something back to her Australian fans – she just never sticks to her promise. No wonder Kylie seems to have stolen our hearts away from her.

  3. well i hope she brings it and not an empty promise like madonna who continues to say she will bring her tour to australia and whenever dates are announced, surprise surprise we are not on the itinerary
