South African director Oliver Hermanus’ feature Beauty was one of the more disturbing picks of the recent Sydney Film Festival, and it’s set for a limited release in cinemas on August 2.
The fascinating study of the power of desire focuses on Francois, a middle-aged, deeply closeted man who becomes obsessed with the adult son of longtime friends.
