Leonard Cohen – Bird On A Wire
Originally made in 1972, British filmmaker Tony Palmer’s Bird On A Wire follows Leonard Cohen on his 1972 European tour, featuring 17 performances, four poetry readings and behind-the-scenes tour footage. Obviously, it’s an embarrassment of riches for Cohen’s legion of fans, so it’s amazing that, until this DVD release, the film was considered ‘lost’, its original print misplaced over the years. Thankfully, it’s been rediscovered, restored and released to coincide with Cohen’s November Australian tour.

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.
When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.
