Chemical Brothers-”Star Guitar (single)
Forget this shit right now if you’re after another Hey Boy Hey Girl -“ the Chemical Brothers have gone on one hell of a tangent with Star Guitar, opting for a strangely unobtrusive and, well, pleasant innocence on the new single. Delivered over a crossover house and trippy back-beat, Star Guitar utilises a drifting melodic and vocal arrangement that harks back to late 60s psychedelic folk. Pleasant, yes, but unfortunately the song goes absolutely nowhere, just spiralling around and around until it disappears. Disappointing, but still acceptable. The second track, Base 6, is straight-out Chemical Brothers breaks and offers fans of the old sound something to hold on to.
