5 LGBTI titles to watch on Netflix

IF you ever find yourself scrolling through Netflix desperately searching for films and television shows featuring quality LGBTI characters and story lines, rest at ease.

We have compiled this short list to show you some of the great options available.

 

1. Boy Meets Girl (2014)

Ricky (Michelle Handley) is a young trans woman living in Kentucky, who pursues romance with debutante Francesca while also realising she might be falling in love with her best friend Robby (Michael Welch, Twilight).

 

2. Orphan Black (2013-)

The series follows a number of clones who discover they’re involved in a supernatural conspiracy. One of the clones is Cosima (Tatiana Maslany), a scientist who falls in love with Delphine (Evelyne Brochu). It also features a main gay character named Felix (Jordan Gavaris), the brother of one of the other clones, and a trans clone who makes a number of appearances.

A young mechanic comes out to his straight best friends, who become determined to help him find the right guy.

 

5. Weekend (2011)

After a drunken house party with his straight mates, Russell heads out to a gay club. Just before closing time he picks up Glen but what’s expected to be just a one-night stand becomes something else, something special.
