Club Arak is coming back
DAVID SYMMONS
The popular dance night Club Arak is back after a two-year hiatus.
Popular due to its unashamedly unique sound and innovative Arab groove, the event offers solace to hundreds of people from diverse backgrounds who are not comfortable in gay venues.
The event started in 2002 and quickly proved popular. But organisers decided to rest the event after 13 successful instalments.
But club organisers Alissa and Foufu have decided to dust off the mothballs and resurrect the evening Âwith DJ Chadi. Sadly, the ever popular DJ Gemma is unlikely to return after establishing her own night, Ya Leil.
Club Arak veterans are invited to come along and bring some friends for what is certain to be a night of great fun and friendship.
.
info: Club Arak is on February 12 from 9pm at Marrickville’s Factory Theatre. Tickets are $30 either on the door or pre-purchased from the venue.
Support the Star Observer… while you still can
LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.
When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.
