FLAMINGO – BRANDON FLOWERS

This solo debut by the Killers’ frontman is an odd beast; a breakaway solo album that sounds much the same as the music of the band he’s breaking away from.

Think country-tinged Americana with the vaguest of electro sheens courtesy of producer du jour Stuart Price.

But if you approach Flamingo as a new Killers album, you won’t be disappointed — lead single Crossfire is a sweeping anthemic pop song as good as anything Flowers has released with his band, while Hard Enough is a gorgeous, synths and guitars duet with alt.country queen Jenny Lewis.
