Ready for a jam session?
Want to join a band? The Melbourne Rainbow Band is opening up their rehearsals to new members on Thursday, February 21 at the Will Sampson Centre, Windsor. Organisers have said it provides a great opportunity for players of woodwind, brass or percussion instruments who may be interested in becoming a member or just sitting in on a jam session.
“We welcome members of all sexualities and social backgrounds, in fact we are proud that we have a number of members who are heterosexual,” Melbourne Rainbow Band president Ben Boreham said.
“The really wonderful thing about the Melbourne Rainbow Band is that while it may be our sexuality that brings us together it is our love of music and community that keeps us unified.”
Beginner musicians through to professionals are invited to attend.
The Melbourne Rainbow Band performed at this year’s Midsumma Carnival and Pride March.
