A new trailer for the upcoming Liberace biopic, Behind the Candelabra, has been released, offering the first peek at the film rejected by Hollywood for being “too gay”.

Starring Michael Douglas as Liberace and Matt Damon as his young lover Scott Thorson, the HBO film is based on Thorson’s tell-all autobiography recounting his six-year relationship with the iconic gay performer.

Behind the Candelabra: The Secret Life of Liberace will premiere on May 26 and also stars Rob Lowe and Debbie Reynolds.
