LGBT training in Cairns

LGBT training in Cairns

The Queensland Association for Healthy Communities (QAHC) is holding LGBT awareness professional development sessions in Cairns this year.

A session on LGBT seniors will address sexual and gender identity, discrimination, the history of the LGBT community, social determinants of health and ways to make your service inclusive of older LGBT people.

There will also be a session with a youth focus, which will address inclusive service provisions specifically for those working with young LGBT people.

Both these sessions will be full-day events at the cost of $132, with catering provided.

A third session will look at creating inclusive services for LGBT clients from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. This session will look at the influence of culture on identity as well as specific issues for this client group.

It’s a half-day session and is free.

To show your expression of interest, email [email protected] by February 25 and mention which session you would like to attend.
