Carmen Rupe artwork up for auction

Kiwi artist HAHA (Regan Tamanui) celebrated the life of transgender icon Carmen Rupe at urban arts initiative Project Five over the weekend, creating an artwork (pictured) to honour the late Sydney identity.

His work, along with the work of other top street artists Vexta, E.L.K. and Reka, is now set to go under the hammer at the Project Five Auction event on Thursday March 22 at the Cleland Bond building foyer (33 Playfair Street, The Rocks) from 6 – 9pm.

All proceeds go to arts-based charity, Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE).

Support the Star Observer… while you still can

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.

Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
