Convicts not trivial

The Sydney Convicts will host a trivia night at the Paddington RSL on Friday 5 October to raise money for their Bingham Cup defence next year.
Considered one of the most important fundraisers on the Convicts’ calendar, this year’s fundraiser will be hosted by Mitzi Macintosh and co-hosted by Convicts team member Matt Vagulans.
The Convicts are heading to Ireland next year to defend gay rugby’s equivalent of the World Cup – the Bingham Cup.
The Convicts were undefeated in the Bingham Cup and Bingham Plate divisions at the last event held in New York in 2006. The 2008 cup will be held in Dublin, where the Convicts will once again face their rugby arch-rivals, the San Francisco Fog.
Team manager Iain Jepsen isn’t worried though, and says he has “quiet confidence” in his teammates.
“Besides,” he says, “if it came to a competition between the Convicts and the Fog as to who was better in the buff, we’d beat them hands down,” he recently told SSO.
As well as the trivia competition, there will be a major raffle on the night.
And if you are willing to donate a prize for the night, the Convicts would like to hear from you as well.
The Convicts will also be gathering at The Shift (Video Bar) to enjoy the Rugby World Cup  this Saturday from 9pm.
Convicts Trivia Madness is on October 5 at Paddington RSL, Cost is $25 a head for tables of eight or 10 people and bookings are essential. Email Iain Jepsen at [email protected] with your name, trivia team name and table size. To donate a prize email Duncan Macgregor at [email protected].
