DJ Lexie Bradfield
DJ Lexie Bradfield reveals her favourite five dance tracks at the moment. These days she can usually be found playing in the queer clubs of Melbourne, but she still manages to find time to perform regularly at Sydney’s Icebox and the Colombian, where you can catch her this Saturday.
FLOWER POWER
Flower Power
Released on the Oxyd label, this song is as infectious as they come. No vocals, no breaks, no frills -“ just totally addictive.
HARDER
DJ Marble
I liken this song to catching fish -“ which is interesting really as I’ve never fished. A house track that continues to reel you in right to the very end.
LOVE SONG (Skylark Remix)
Syntax
I love the simplicity of this track. It’s electro funky house that doesn’t come with a use-by date.
SO MANY TIMES (Steve Angello Mix)
Gadjo
This track should be called So Many Mixes -“ there are dozens of them. The Steve Angello mix does it for me though, as it manages to capture a deep, rich funkiness which always packs the dancefloor.
STOP
Bini & Martini
This is funky house at its best. Reminds me of original disco but has a 2004 chunky bass line.
