Gaydar amps up the sex factor

An Italian police officer has won Gaydar’s 2008 Sexiest Man On Earth title for 2008. Fabrizio Chiazza may have taken out the title, winning over the other 46,501 entr-ants, but Australia had two homegrowns in the 13 finalists.

South Australian Darren Quinn took out the title of sexiest alternative look, while Nicholas Luciano from Western Australia was voted sexiest older guy, earning them a free membership to Gaydar and a cash prize of £500 ($1100 AUD).

Quinn, who was won the title nine times said, the competition has done my head in. It seems like everyone wants a bit of me somehow. After winning so many times some people get angry, but mostly there have been a lot of great guys.

I was a bit shocked about winning again, and as far as being a gay icon goes, I’m really just another gay guy. I’m not that special.

Have your say: Are Australia’s men the sexiest in the world?
