Marrickville Council is now accepting applications for grants worth up to $25,000 for community-based non-profit organisations.

Organisations looking for the funds to further an idea, program or event which benefits the citizens of the Marrickville local government area are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming information sessions.

There is one $5,000 grant available through the Council Community Grant scheme, and up to $25,000 is on offer from the Clubs NSW Community Development and Support Expenditure program.

Council’s Community Grants program provides small grants to assist community-based projects, which build social capital, build sustainability, encourage active citizenship and achieve value for money for both the Council and local residents, Marrickville Mayor Dimitrios Thanos said.

There will be two information sessions held on Wednesday 11 June, running from 1pm to 2pm and from 6pm to 7pm.

Information sessions to be held on 11 June, 1pm-2pm and 6pm-7pm, at Petersham Town Hall, Crystal St, Petersham. For copies of the Community Grant guidelines and application forms call 9335 2222 or go to www.marrickville.nsw.gov.au.
