The Melbourne Outgames tennis tournament will be held at Australia’s most famous tennis venue – Melbourne Park.
Outgames co-presidents Peter Sagar and Loraine Little said the tennis tournament would be held at the world-class venue one week after its major event, the Australian Open.
The 1st Asia Pacific Outgames is a 10-day multi-sport tournament, human rights conference and cultural event that embraces the region’s gay and lesbian community and friends.
“This global event will attract thousands of Australian and international spectators and participants to Melbourne,” Sagar said.
“All sports, including tennis, are now open for registration.
“Given this world-class tennis venue, we expect people will need to register quickly or they may miss out,” Little added.
The Tennis Victoria-sanctioned event will be held over three days and will be non-stop tennis for players of all skill levels.
Like the Australian Open, the Outgames tennis tournament promises to have a fun carnival atmosphere on and off the court.
