Hearts off to artful protest

ACON is lending its support to the Kingdom of Hearts group as they prepare to take Taylor Square by storm for International Day Against Homophobia, this Saturday 16 May.

Kingdom of Hearts, an artists’ group which believes in protest through art, will be staging a performance art piece entitled Still Life/ Loved Still at 3pm exactly.

Kingdom of Hearts have previously staged impromptu public pillow fights and train parties as forms of protest.

The piece to be staged for IDAHO is being kept a secret up until the day but promises to show ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

The overall message will be one of love and diversity in commemoration of IDAHO while making more general statements about reclaiming public space and the need for public love.
