I hope you had a fantastic Mardi Gras and made the most of your Easter break. As we settle into the rest of the year, the Hunter and Mid North Coast regions have some interesting events coming up.

Earlier this month, Twenty10 held their -˜Ready or Not’ training at Erina Youth Service on the Central Coast. Eighteen representatives from youth and health services attended. As a result of this training, the Sexual Health Community Grants Scheme offered $5000 for sexual health projects targeting GLBT youth on the Central Coast.

Saturday 12 April, -˜Seduced By Grace’, facilitated by Michael B Kelly, will be held in the Newcastle area from 10am to 4.30pm. The day is an opportunity for reflection for men and women exploring Christian spirituality and gay experience. Saturday 26 April, Coastal Castaways on the Mid North Coast are holding their next dance at the Lakeside Caf?n Tiona Park. Entry is $15, for more information please contact Mark on 0401 880 352.

Ever wanted to know what an Enduring Guardianship is and how to appoint one? ACON, in partnership with the Office of the Public Guardian, are holding free information sessions across the state and the Hunter session is Thursday 24 April from 6pm till 7.30pm. Lastly, Rainbow Visions community group are hosting a cabaret fundraiser night on Saturday 31 May at the Gallipoli Legion Club, Hamilton. Featuring Denise Gold and sidekick Cherry, all girl band, Girl in the Picture and much more. Hosted by that hilarious parody of Newcastle’s brotherly icons – Ike and Hal Gayland, it is bound to be one of this year’s memorable events.
