Two dozen people converged on Sydney at the weekend to train as coming out group facilitators.

The 24 people joined the Rebellion training group. They were from areas as diverse as Dubbo, Parkes, Orange, Wagga Wagga, Batemans Bay, Adelaide and areas of Sydney.

Training was provided by the NSW Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service and will be followed up with a series of teleconferences.

“It was very rewarding to see so many people come together from the different groups and brings home how far Rebellion has come in a couple of short years,” Rebellion president Bernard Busooa said.

“It is now an organisation with a broad and diverse membership that actually can and does bring outreach to the rural and suburban areas that need it the most”

Plans are now underway to celebrate Rebellion’s 8th Anniversary on 15 September, which will provide another opportunity for members and supporters of all our branches, to get together once more.
