Queer art finds a space

Continuing the celebration of queer culture, Performance Space at CarriageWorks is putting on an exhibition called Quick & Dirty.

In the tradition of cLUB bENT and Taboo Parlour, the show gathers old and new, restaging some original works and premiering current works.

This three-day showing opens on Friday 22 February and will explore a mixture of styles, forms, genres and generations. The work will provocatively explore the issues and ideas within the GLBT community and celebrate the diversity of those who wish to come and play in this arena.

Artists include Celia Curtis, Mat Hornby, Sex Intents, Pluto Savage and Glita Supernova.

Expect a dynamic mixture of performance art and participation, all under the banner of the kind of vibrant, decadent party that the queer community is renowned for.

Tickets start at $15. Bookings on 9209 4614 or moshtix.com.au.
