Who said drag queens can’t get boyfriends?

Okay, this will be the last time I speak of him, I promise -“ well, in the newspaper, that is. Monday, as many know, was Valentine’s Day. And after many years of sending myself roses and cards signed your secret admirer or still loving you, I can safely say I have my first real Valentine.

As the Kylie song goes, it truly was love at first sight.
I am talking about the little backpacker I have fallen for like a tonne of cake. I remember our first meeting like it was yesterday. And it was love straight away, for me anyway.

I had just finished Klub Kamp at the Midnight Shift with Penny Tration and we were making our way to our usual after-work hang-out, Olympic Yeeros.

Just as we crossed past the Colombian, a little man (5ft2in) and his friend came past cheering, telling us how beautiful we were. My first response was, you’re drunk, and then, I love you. Now, I have always wanted a really tall boyfriend so he could reach things from the top shelf at the supermarket but this little midget had me.

It wasn’t till the day after NYE that I saw my true love again. Both pissed as usual, I bailed him up outside the toilets and demanded he come to Stonewall on the following Monday, which he did.

My god, the rest is history, seeing each other every day for the past seven weeks. For intensity, this rates as 10 out of 10.

My only problem is he is a traveller who ends up leaving Australia for home in just three weeks and he still has so much to see. So what am I supposed to do? Huge phone bills, internet on 24/7 and maybe relocation, but it is only early days.

So, smitten I sit here at Global Gossip in the Cross by myself as Neil continues his travelling, Tasmania first, then Melbourne -“ I count down the days.

I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine’s Day and has either been loved or had love in some form or another. I had to settle for an SMS and a phone call but hey, I don’t complain. Who said drag queens couldn’t get boyfriends?

EYESPY

So many birthdays, so little time. Happy birthday to Courtney Act, Ashley Swift and fellow south coast boy Michael Boyd. Many happy returns, you old farts!

With our soft opening out of the way, it is now time to open our full drag show this Saturday night at Stonewall! First show is at 11pm. See you there. I even dance!

Get your sunscreen out and hats for everyone, Fair Day is upon us once again. As usual I can’t divulge too much but I can say, watch out for the main stage; the acts that they have lined up look fabulous. Especially the first host at 11am.
