New Chris Lilley series on the way

Chris-Lilley-6060065ABC TV has announced that production has begun on another comedy series from performer Chris Lilley.

The six-part half-hour comedy series will air this year.

Lilley has again teamed up with Princess Pictures, who helped deliver his previous series We Can Be Heroes, Summer Heights High and Angry Boys.

The show will be a co-production between the ABC and HBO network in the US, with a pre-sale to BBC Three in the UK.

“I’ve never been more excited about shooting a show. I really like this one. Can’t wait for fans to see it,” Lilley said in a statement this morning.

Despite not being as successful critically as his previous two series, Lilley’s Angry Boys managed to rack up 1.4 million plays on ABC’s iview time-shift platform – the highest ever amount of program plays on iview recorded to date.

There’s no word on the premise of his latest creation.
