On My Own – Silvie Paladino

Since debuting as a teenager in Les Miserables back in 1989, Silvie Paladino has been one of Australia’s most prolific musical theatre performers. Yet she’s never recorded an album — until On My Own, a gift to herself in celebration of her 40th birthday. With John Foreman at the helm, it’s a tasteful, safe collection of (mostly) covers — from the sickly (Lionel Richie’s Truly) to the sweet (Eva Cassidy’s Songbird). Nonetheless, Paladino’s rich, theatre-honed voice is in fine form throughout.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.

Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
