This awesome two-disc compilation couldn’t be more aptly titled. The biggest funk and soul hits of the ’80s are here, as you’d expect: Lionel Richie’s All Night Long, Rick James’ Superfreak. But what really makes this collection stand out are the forgotten hits that deserve to be heard again: The Mary Jane Girls’ sublime In My House, Jody Watley’s Janet-aping Looking For A New Love, Patrice Rushen’s sultry Forget Me Nots. More than two and a half hours of essential listening.
