Rangers B defeat a strong Earlwood

With the IGLFA World Championships now underway in Mexico City, and 14 players on international duty, the Rangers were desperately low in numbers for the weekend’s fixtures.

The Rangers A game was washed out. Rangers B played Earlwood at a soggy and muddy Beaman Park.

Coming off a local derby win the previous weekend, Rangers B started slowly as the four imports drafted to make up numbers tried to work out how the team combines.

As the game went on, it became more physical, as Earlwood tried rougher tactics against the senior players. As the Rangers began to work as a team, they slowly managed to turn the tables.

The last 15 minutes were a struggle to hold a lead and beat off the stronger finishing Earlwood, but at the final siren Rangers B, against all odds, had taken the points with a 3-2 victory.
