Thousands hit the Harbour for CoolChange

Thousands of revellers enjoyed stunning weather at Harbour Party ‘12 – CoolChange on Saturday, with one of the partying highlights of the Mardi Gras calendar drawing a large international crowd.

DJs Lee Dagger of Bimbo Jones, Olivian, Kate Monroe, Troy Cox, Random Soul and Richard Weiss entertained revellers from 3pm to 11pm, while singer Paulini provided a short but electrifying set in the main tent at 8pm, delivering her current single Fireman mashed up with a few other appropriately fire-themed songs, including a take on Madonna’s Burning Up.

Earlier in the afternoon, drag king (and Harbour Party poster boy) Rocco D’Amore and dancers entertained with a sailor-themed set on the main stage.

Harbour Party Artistic Director Gillian Minervini had previously kept quiet about when to expect the fireworks spectacular planned for the event, but in the end opted to see the party off with a bang as a fireworks display launched from a barge in the harbour lit up the night sky at around 11pm.
