Gentle readers, I write to you while soaring above Bass Strait, en route to Melbourne from the Gagalicious party at Flamingo’s Dance Bar in Tasmania.
Hobartians know how to party. They really get into the spirit of things, with the venue at capacity and everyone going to some effort to ‘Dress Gaga’. Thanks to everyone who turned up and made it an amazing night — I can’t wait to see you all again for Flamingo’s sixth birthday party on July 16.
My apologies for leaving out the very gorgeous, talented and thin Sasha Fagg from the entrants I listed in last week’s column. Sources inform me she was so furious about being missed off the list that all the corn on her ‘Corn this way’ costume turned into popcorn.
A former staff member of the Xchange recently posted a photo on facebook of a sign taped to the door of the former Commercial Rd jewel which read: DON’T TOUCH THE LOCKS – THIS HOTEL HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY OWNER UNTILL PAYMENT HAS BEEN RECEICEVED.
Which was more scandalous — the actions of the bulding owner or the bad spelling on the sign?
Which reality TV show runner-up recently hooked up with the winner of one of the recent drag competitions? But that’s not the scandalous part. They went out for a post-hangover meal the next morning and checked in on foursquare, confirming their location.
A divine little café or a posh Bridge Rd eatery for Sunday brunch? Alas no — a family feed at KFC Richmond. And the saddest part is that the reality TV show was a cooking contest!
Which drag performer recently did a duet at a local venue with a puppet? The number was hilarious, but left most of the audience confused. Usually she’s the one who likes a hand up her backside!
And apparently drag icon Miss Candee turned down free tickets to the theatre the other week — because she didn’t have any clean underwear! (And here I was thinking she didn’t wear any anyway!)
