Lights, camera, action!

Lights, camera, action!

It’s that time of year again when I’m off to be pulled, sucked, and stitched up by my surgeon in order to look half decent for the drag queens’ night of nights!

Yes, DIVA is here again and as fun as dressing up to be more than the supermodel that I am, I mainly look forward to the opportunity to catch up with friends and people that I admire and look up to, as I don’t get a lot of time to do this often.

This years theme is Vintage, Glamour and Movies, which is right up my alley. I’m vintage, I’m glamorous and have starred in a few (blue) movies.

It would be lovely to win another DIVA to add to my collection but I’m an old has-been, a fallen diva, never to be nominated again.

But it’s not about winning, it’s about being acknowledged. I only go now to keep everyone informed about the inside gossip; who passed out in the toilet, who broke their DIVA, and which has-been vomited on me!.Vile! The Queer Out West crew will be there doing a live feed from the toilets for all our listeners who aren’t attending so tune in on Monday night from 10pm for all the goss! www.queeroutwest.com

DIVA will be held at the Hoyts Cinema Complex Fox Studios from 7pm on October 29. www.divaawards.com.au

In other exciting news, Heaven Social Dance (HSD) has locked in dates for 2013 and I’m excited about all the changes that are coming.

Next year will see our two social dances, HSD and KSD cut from 17 dances per year to 12 to increase attendance and avoid clashing.

Also we’re proud to be hosting a total of three charity nights next year, as we’re always happy to give back to our community.

The last show of Heaven for this year is MBC in Diva Station this Saturday, Oct 27, which is also our last HSD for 2012, but will be back again next year with brand new shows! www.heavensocialdance.com

I’ll be seeing red in December at Kaleidoscope as we will be marking World AIDS Day with our Red Party 2 fundraiser on Saturday, December 1, with all proceeds going to ACON Western Sydney.

The event will be hosted by Sandy Bottom, Chrystal Clear and myself, with an assortment of talent, consisting of 15 performers in three huge shows at 10pm, 11pm and 12am. www.kaleidoscopesocialdance.com

If you’d like to like be part of World AIDS Day on December 1 or contribute to fundraising, you can volunteer to sell red ribbons at your workplace, social event or on the day. Contact redribbonday.org.au

Drag gossip: Nose jobs, botox, lipo! Oh My! Which queens have been under the knife for DIVA? Spot the difference.

Which rising star has moved into Western Sydney and is trying nudge me out, following in my footsteps and trying to take over my throne (disabled toilets, got to love them)?

Until next time, gorgeous! Luv BB www.beverlybuttercup.com
