If passed the bill will give legal recognition to all same-sex and gender diverse couples across the state, along with those married overseas.
A new, approved bill in Victoria enables allows international same-sex couples to be legally recognised by the state. It will also allow same-sex couples to hold ceremonies when registering their relationships.
The Premier also said Marco would receive a new death certificate which will list his late husband as married once the appropriate legislation was passed in South Australia.
Advocates have called the lack of recognition for a gay married couple as degrading.
