The first known Australian trans person to be awarded a Churchill Fellowship, Jeremy Wiggins’ global research has informed new guidelines around developing health services for trans and gender diverse people.
Wiggins was emotional as he accepted the award – which he received for his tireless work in trans health for more than 15 years – and dedicated it to his children.
“This year’s finalists for the [sports] award all identify as transgender, which is testament to the amazing work that our trans community has been doing to increase inclusion in sports.”
