“This inquiry is overdue. For the heartbroken friends and family members of these individuals, who were targeted and murdered, it has been a decades long journey for justice and redress.”
Education Minister Rob Stokes said the program could only cover “modern problems that universally affect all young adults” given its 25-hour length.
The bill was passed this week and will protect minorities including LGBTI people from vilification.
“It’s unacceptable that some trans and gender diverse people are still waiting for full marriage equality.”
