From Cannes hit ‘Sauvage’ to the historic Kenyan love story ‘Rafiki’ and the graceful, moving ‘Night Comes On’, this year’s MQFF has something for everyone.
“The 2019 edition of MQFF is guaranteed to enthral whilst also casting a keen eye over LGBTIQ+ culture and its fascinating diversity,” said Program Director Spiro Economopoulos.
This year’s festival features over 120 films, including stars like Molly Shannon, Hugh Grant, Rupert Everett and Matt Smith, as well as local documentaries focused on The Coming Back Out Ball and trans elder Colleen Young.
This year’s program continues MIFF’s streak of bringing adventurous, boundary-pushing cinema to the fore.
This year’s program features a bevy of LGBTI films, including the most centred on queer women in a single year in the festival’s history.
