Marriage equality activists have said the drop in support is due to the ‘no’ campaign’s tactics of conflating marriage equality with school and gender issues.
The group is campaigning for lesbians to vote no and attempting to derail the marriage equality debate by labelling it an issue of “trans marriage”.
The caller phoned to complain about a studio guest advocating for the yes vote on marriage equality.

The ad doesn’t directly address marriage equality, instead taking a ‘think of the children’ approach that conflates same-sex marriage with the Safe Schools program.
“The fact that it’s not seen as a legitimate union in the eyes of the law is—my wife says bullshit.”
Australians won’t get to see the proposed marriage equality bill before being asked to vote on it.
