SHORT FILM
The Bondi Short Film Festival has reached cult status amongst indie filmmakers across Australia. With an eclectic mix of high-end quality short films and a devoted audience it is little wonder the event has sold out every year for the past seven years. If you’re interested in entering, films must be less than 18 months old and not exceed 15 minutes. Entries close on Friday 7 November. RADIO
Radio is the beautiful and timely story of Charlie Fairbanks, born in the middle of the 20th century in the geographic centre of America. Charlie is the son of a flag-maker, and his journey and eventual dissolution become an allegory for that of America itself. The play lays bare the devastating effects of war, and uncovers the human cost of patriotism. Radio opened at The Old Fitzroy Theatre this week and tickets start at $10.
