Different Strokes, the first GLBT Dragon Boating club is set to hit the water by the second week of June.

For anyone interested in partaking you still have one last chance to sign up at the official registration day, this Saturday May 31, at the Norfolk Hotel, 307 Cleveland St.

Club Secretary Justin Rabe says the club is making quick progress through the set up phase.

There is still some work to do to get the team paddling but the committee is dedicated to ensure delays are minimized.

The team has been fortunate enough to be given a boat for training and Team Sydney has been excellent in providing administrative support. The team has been accepted by the Dragon Boating community who are keen to see how competitive the team will be, Rabe said.

Different Strokes will train one evening a week and once on the weekend. Times and days are yet to be decided by popular vote once members are finalised.
