Nudity in Newtown

Nudity in Newtown

If the combination of paint, nudity and girl-on-girl action this summer gets you hot under the collar, you’ll be heading to Newtown for a special stage production.
The Colour of August will open on Tuesday 4 December and it’s written by one of Spain’s contemporary playwrights – Paloma Pedrero.
Her work is graphic, straightforward and deals with a diversity of themes including personal relationships and sexual identity.
The play is structured around the meeting of two female artists who share a passionate relationship and a power struggle.
Its two stars are both fresh from New York City. Brazilian-born Mariana Soares and Paula Roman, who trained in Spain as well as the US, will perform the play entirely in Spanish on selected nights.
The production is directed by Mark Clearly and will play until Saturday 29 December.
Spanish language performances are on 19, 20 and 27 December. Tickets are $20 and the show starts at 9pm Tuesday to Saturday. Bookings on 1300 306 776 or www.mca-tix.com.
