SSO joins forces with Outgames

Sydney Star Observer has been named an official media partner with Melbourne’s 2008 Outgames.

SSO will join Melbourne’s bnews, national magazine DNA and lesbian publication LoTL to promote the sporting event, which will take place in Melbourne in February next year.

Outgames communications director Graeme Lewsey said the partnership would be instrumental to the success of the games.

"Media partnerships are integral to broadening the channels of communications outwards into the community at large,” he said.

“This incredible show of support and endorsement really helps to set the Outgames up for success.”

SSO publishing editor Scott Abrahams said he was pleased to contribute to the success of the games. He said SSO would carry news and information on the games in almost every issue.

“The Star is very supportive of gay and lesbian sporting groups and their achievements,” he said. “Joining forces with the Melbourne 2008 Outgames, bnews, DNA and LoTL seemed like a natural thing to do to help promote the queer sporting community to a broader audience.”

The Outgames will be held in Melbourne from January 30 to February 3 next year. Details: www.melbourneoutgames.org.
