One for the team
So you’ve taken one for the team. Or maybe you’re the type of girl who has given the team one. We’ve all had one for the team; but this week I got one from the team.
Big, stunningly beautiful natives to be exact mixed with a couple of far Eastern varieties. What could be more amazing than a tall, proud collection of natives in the dining room? Doing nothing in particular, just standing there, strong and gazing at the passersby.
Offset with the colour and glitz of the far Eastern additions, the dining room has a reason to visit not seen for a while. Oh and the best part; they’re mine. All mine.
I suppose I should explain before you wet yourself with vain imaginings or self pleasuring antics. This week was one of personal, family tragedy. Feeling as if I’d been washed on a heavy cycle in the front loader, it was the team, my sporting team who dropped in like the proverbial bolt from the blue.
There is nothing quite like a good hug from the team, when you are feeling like the remnants left by the horse riders in Centennial Park.
Ah yes, the natives. Beautiful of course, the NSW state flower, bursting forth in bright red, tall and proud as it looked down on a collection of eastern orchids, and a mixture of native flora and vegetation.
I was so glad to take that one from the team. The relationships of a sporting team extend outside the boundaries of the field of play.
Maybe it’s time to join one of the Team Sydney member clubs’ teams? There is plenty of variety: the ones who get wet and the ones who have suffered a major mishap if they get wet.
There are those who sweat, those who strive, those who party as hard as they play. There are teams for the young, those in between, and those who have blessed this earth with their presence for decades.
