Outgames hoists its sail
Making good use of Wellington’s stunning harbour, a water activity day is the latest event to be added to the Outgames line-up.
For those keen on water sports, sailing, scuba diving and a competitive sea swim will be on offer during the queer sports event to be held in the New Zealand capital in March.
Organisers were recently forced to pull netball and softball from the line-up after schedules clashed, in the case of netball, with a major national competition.
Registrations to compete in all 17 sports are are still open.
Those who register before January 24 will go into the draw to win three prizes, including a mountain bike worth over $1000, an accommodation package, or dinner for two at a top Wellington restaurant.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can
LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.
When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.
Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
