Gali Swimwear combines Australia’s First Nation culture with sustainable mens swimwear. They ethically collaborate with First Nation artists and communities to create premium swimwear that celebrates rich culture, showcases creativity, and is designed to be celebrated by water lovers everywhere. Each piece is designed by a different First Nations artist who receives a commission for each piece sold. Pieces have an ‘artwork story’, an explanation of the artist’s inspiration and First Nations history. The vision of Gali Swimwear is to live in a world that understands, supports and celebrates the diverse cultures of Australia’s First Nations people. They hope their men’s swimwear starts conversations, unites and connects people and is a catalyst for change. Gali is owned and operated by David Leslie, a proud Kamilaroi gay man and volunteer surf lifesaver. Gali means water, and Gali Swimwear is a way for David to connect his love of water with his culture. All pieces are made in Australia. Pieces are made from premium recycled materials. Additionally, they use compostable packaging which is plastic free and sustainable. A $1 donation is made to community projects for each product sold. Gali Swimwear can be purchased on their website and from Aussie Boys in Darlinghurst.
