Queer filmmaker getting top gongs

At 22, queer Sydney filmmaker Daniel Monks is one of the youngest people ever to have two short films selected for the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival. His shorts Charlotte and Wild Imaginings have been selected for 18 more film festivals, including the Mardi Gras Film Festival and he won the Celluloid Casserole award for Best Short Film at MQFF. Now Monks is flying to Italy to present his films at the Torino GLBT Film Festival.
