Mark Indelicato Marries David Watson With Hacks Co-Star Jean Smart Officiating
Hacks star Mark Indelicato has officially tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony with his co-stars.
The wedding came with a little extra star power this month, with his Hacks co-star Jean Smart officiating as he married partner, David Watson.
The couple tied the knot on October 10, surrounded by familiar faces from the comedy series. Footage shared by fellow actor Johnny Sibilly captured Smart declaring the newlyweds “husband and husband”, before Indelicato celebrated with an enthusiastic “We did it!” The pair then kissed as Smart smiled behind them.
The celebration also brought together fellow Hacks stars Hannah Einbinder, Meg Stalter, Poppy Liu and Paul W. Downs. Sharing a photograph of the gathering, Downs captioned the moment “Hacks fam 4 eva” and congratulated the couple.
Smart’s involvement added a personal touch for viewers familiar with the pair’s onscreen relationship. In Hacks, Indelicato plays Damien, assistant to Smart’s formidable comedian Deborah Vance.
Long before joining Deborah’s orbit, Indelicato became familiar to audiences as Justin Suarez, Betty’s fashion-loving nephew in Ugly Betty. He appeared across the series’ 2006–2010 run, with Justin’s coming-out storyline unfolding in its fourth season. The role remains a defining part of his career and his connection with LGBTQIA+ audiences.
More recently, he made a memorable return to our screens on RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race, competing in the second season in 2022 as Thirsty Von Trapp. Indelicato reached the finale alongside Tatyana Ali and eventual winner AJ McLean.
The wedding reunion highlights Indelicato’s earlier comments about the friendships formed on Hacks.
The actor told Sibilly on Logo Spill that filming a first-season dinner party scene helped the cast feel like family. He also praised the rare experience of working alongside so many queer performers in a supportive environment.
During that conversation, Indelicato criticised Hollywood’s commitment to LGBTQIA+ storytelling amid cancellations of queer-centred shows, including his own series With Love.
