Celebrating diversity at work

Nominations are now open for the 2011 Diversity@Work Employment and Inclusion Awards, to be held on October 21 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The awards recognise individuals and organisations that have implemented appropriate training, policies and support structures to develop a workforce that reflects the diversity of the community, as well as provide employment opportunities for those from diverse backgrounds.

“The award winners will be those that clearly demonstrate an inherent understanding of how diversity and inclusion has created success for their organisation,” Diversity@Work general manager Donna de Zwart said.

Australian organisations, from small to large corporations, academic institutions, government departments, not-for-profits and community businesses, are invited to nominate for any of the seven Employment and Inclusion Awards including the Employment and Inclusion of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex.

The 2011 Awards will also see the reintroduction of Diversity@Work honouring individuals championing diversity and inclusion in the workplace and the community with the Individual Diversity Laureate Award.

Nominations for the 2011 Diversity@Work Employment and Inclusion Awards close on Friday, July 15.
