CoastOut scouts for talent

By Benjamin Riley
Coffs Harbour gay and lesbian beach festival CoastOut is looking for talented artists and performers to appear on the main stage at the inaugural festival to be held in Coffs Harbour in October.

Successful applicants will appear at CoastScout, the festival’s official launch to be held at the Coffs Harbour Surf Club on Sunday, September 5 from 3-8pm. Performers at the launch will go into the running to perform on the main stage at the CoastOut Fair Day on October 30, with the winning performer receiving an all-expenses paid trip to Sydney to appear on the main stage at Mardi Gras Fair Day in February.

CoastOut organisers hope that CoastScout will attract talent from around NSW’s north coast, with the festival main stage showcasing local acts alongside a top-class entertainment line-up from around the country.

CoastOut will be Australia’s first surf-centric gay and lesbian festival, and is an initiative from members of the Coffs Harbour community and the local council. The three-day festival will include sporting events as well as music, dance and other entertainment.

To apply to appear at the festival launch as a performer, email [email protected] The CoastOut festival runs from October 29-31.
